Anti-Discrimination & Anti-Harassment Policy

At SLS 360, we are committed to fostering a working and learning environment that is free from discrimination, harassment and victimisation. We uphold a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of discriminatory behaviour, whether direct or indirect, and whether exhibited by staff, associates, clients, or participants in our programmes.

Purpose
This policy sets out our commitment to preventing discrimination and harassment, and outlines the responsibilities of everyone associated with SLS 360 in upholding these values.

Scope
This policy applies to all individuals working with or on behalf of SLS 360, including employees, contractors, freelance associates, volunteers, collaborators, and network members. It applies to all activities carried out in person or online, including meetings, training sessions, consultancy work, communications and events.

Our Commitment
We will not tolerate discrimination or harassment on the basis of:
• Age
• Disability (visible or non-visible)
• Gender identity or gender expression
• Race, ethnicity, nationality or cultural background
• Religion or belief
• Sex or sexual orientation
• Marital or parental status
• Socio-economic background
• Neurodivergence
• Any other characteristic protected under the Equality Act 2010

We are committed to:
• Promoting a culture of dignity, respect and inclusion across all our work.
• Providing safe, inclusive spaces where everyone feels able to speak up and participate fully.
• Taking all complaints of discrimination or harassment seriously and addressing them promptly, sensitively and fairly.
• Ensuring our services are inclusive and accessible to all, with appropriate adjustments made as required.
• Equipping our staff, facilitators and associates with the knowledge and confidence to uphold inclusive practice.

What Constitutes Harassment or Discrimination?
Harassment is unwanted conduct related to a protected characteristic which has the purpose or effect of violating a person’s dignity, or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment.

Discrimination is treating someone less favourably because of a protected characteristic, or applying a policy or practice that disadvantages people with a protected characteristic.

Victimisation occurs when someone is treated unfairly because they have made or supported a complaint under this policy.

Reporting and Resolution
If you experience or witness any form of discrimination or harassment in relation to SLS 360’s work, you are encouraged to report it in confidence to the Director at info@sls360.org. All concerns will be taken seriously and investigated with care and confidentiality.

We are committed to resolving concerns fairly, and where appropriate, involving those affected in shaping the outcomes of any response.

Review and Accountability
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains robust, relevant and aligned with our organisational values and legal responsibilities.

By working with or for SLS 360, you agree to uphold this policy and contribute to creating an environment of equity, dignity and respect for all.

Signed,
Samantha (Sam) Stimpson FRSA
